(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This criminal writ petition has been filed under Articles 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for the release of detenue, Sana Parveen, niece of the petitioner, who is alleged to be in the illegal custody of respondents No. 5 to 8. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that niece of the petitioner, namely, Sana Parveen, aged 21 years, was abducted by respondents No. 5 to 8; that the petitioner has also made a representation to the Superintendent of Police, Nuh, on 18.07.2021 for redressal of his grievance, but till date no action has been taken on the same and the detenue has illegally been confined by respondents No.5 to 8.

Vide order dated 20.7.2021, passed by this Court, Superintendent of Police, Nuh-respondent No. 3 was directed to depute a Gazetted Police Officer to visit the house of respondents No. 5 to 8 and inquire as to whether GURPREET SINGH 2021.08.09 15:43 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh the alleged detenue has been illegally detained by them and to file a detailed

CRWP No. 6725 of 2021 -2report in this regard.

In compliance of the order dated 20.7.2021, status report by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Nuh dated 03.8.2021, has been filed through e-mail. Copy of the same is taken on record. I have gone through the status report with the able assistance of the learned State counsel.

Along with the status report, statements of detenue-Sana Parveen and respondents No. 5 to 8 have also been placed on record. In her statement (Annexure R-5), detenue-Sana Parveen has stated that she went with Samim of her own to Ghaziabad, U.P. and solemnized marriage with him on 12.7.2021. She further stated that she has been residing happily with Samim and on 24.7.2021, while producing all the documents related to her marriage, Sana Parveen, the alleged detenue stated that she does not have any danger to her life.

Keeping in view the above, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he does not want to press the petition. Dismissed as not pressed.
