(Oral) This petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed for seeking a direction to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of the private respondents. Learned counsel for the petitioners inter alia contends that petitioner No.1 is a minor and petitioner No.2 is though a major, yet not of a marriageable age. It is contended that petitioner No.1 has been subjected to persistent threats, coercion and physical assault at the hands of her parents and relatives, who are compelling her to marry an old age man of their choice. He contends that petitioner No.1 is unwilling to enter into such marriage.

In view of the assault and harassment meted out to her at her parental home, she was constrained to run away and presently both the petitioners are running from place to place to save their lives. The petitioners apprehend threat to their lives and claim that there is a constant danger of being implicated in a false case. MANGAL SINGH 2026.04.

CRWP-4371-2026 (O&M) Notice of motion restricted to respondents No. 1 to 3 only. Pursuant to supply of advance copy, Mr. Mohit Kapoor, Sr. DAG Punjab (through V.C.), who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 3. He submits that he has no objection if appropriate direction for providing requisite protection to the petitioners is given.

It is un-controverted that the petitioner No.1 is a juvenile in need of care and protection and that there are issues concerning the safety and security, however, considering that the petitioner No.2 is not a guardian appointed by law, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners contends that he would be satisfied in case directions in terms of judgment passed in the matter of P...... Minor Through Vikram Vs State of Haryana and others in CRWP-2139-2022 dated 28.03.2022 are also passed in the present case.

In view of the same, the present petition is disposed of with directions as contained in the judgment of P......
