As per the allegations, accused Dilpreet Singh and Anurag Saini @ Aniket @ Vansh (petitioner herein) were riding a motorcycle and allegedly followed the complainant/injured, namely Shubham. They are stated to have intercepted him by bringing their motorcycle in front of his path, whereupon Dilpreet Singh got down from the motorcycle and struck the complainant with a kada worn on his right hand. Petitioner, who was the pillion rider, also got down from the motorcycle and allegedly attacked the complainant using the grip he was holding in his right hand, delivering four consecutive blows to the back of the complainant's head. It is further alleged that when the complainant/injured Shubham fell to the ground, another accused-Chanchal Kumar, arrived at the spot and inflicted fist and slap blows. 3.
Learned Senior Counsel for the petitioner submits that genesis of the occurrence has been deliberately concealed by the complainant, as co-accused Dilpreet Singh also sustained a sharp-edged injury on his right lower leg, measuring approximately 5 cm in length, 1 cm in width, and 0.5-0.8 cm in depth. In this regard, reliance is placed on the MLR dated 10.02.2026 of Dilpreet Singh conducted at 3:20 P.M. (Annexure P-2).
It is further submitted that petitioner is ready and willing to join the investigation and to fully cooperate with the investigating agency, if he is granted protection from arrest by
-3this Court. Thus, counsel prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in the present case.

On advance notice, Mr. Neeraj Madaan, Sr. DAG, Punjab, puts in appearance on behalf of the respondent - State, and seeks some time to file status report in the matter. 6.
On being asked by the Court, learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Rupinder Singh, submits that complainant sustained total six injuries, out of which four are attributed to the petitioner, and all the said four injuries have been declared to be simple in nature.

Adjourned to 12.05.2026.

Meanwhile, the petitioner is directed to join the investigation as and when required to do so by the Investigating Agency. In the event of his arrest, the petitioner shall be released on ad-interim bail, subject to his furnishing bail bonds to the satisfaction of the Arresting Officer. The petitioner shall also abide by all the conditions laid down under Section 482(2) of BNSS, 2023 (earlier Section 438(2) Cr.P.C.). 9.
Besides, it is directed that petitioner would hand over his passport to the Investigating Agency or to Court concerned, if he possesses. Otherwise, would submit an affidavit, disclosing the fact that he does not possess any passport. It is also directed that before leaving country any time during trial, petitioner would seek prior permission of the Court.

However, it is made clear that the necessary recoveries shall be effected from the petitioner, during the course of the investigation."

Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Rupinder Singh submits that the petitioner has joined the investigation on 11.05.2026, and as of now, custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not required for the
-4purpose of investigation.

Since, petitioner has already joined the investigation and custodial interrogation is no more required; ad-interim bail order dated 18.04.2026 passed by this Court is hereby made absolute. Accordingly, present petition is allowed. 5.
The petitioner shall continue to join the investigation as and when required to do so and abide by all the terms and conditions laid down under Section 482(2) of BNSS, 2023.

However, present order would be subject to the submission of his passport to the Investigating Agency or to Court concerned, if he possesses, within a period of one week from today. Otherwise, he would submit an affidavit, disclosing the fact that he does not possess any passport. 7.
