The substantive prayer made in the petition reads thus: 'It is, therefore, respectfully prayed that the petition may kindly be allowed and order dated 17.07.2018 (Annexure P-6), passed by Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate Samana in FIR No.120 dated 28.5.2012 U/s 406/120B IPC, P.S. Patran, District Patiala (Annexure P-1) may kindly be quashed/ set-aside, in the interest of justice. It is further prayed that the operation of the impugned order dated 17.7.2018 (Annexure P-6) may kindly be stayed during the pendency of the present petition before this Hon'ble Court.'

Learned State counsel has brought to the notice of this Court that the petition in hand has been rendered infructuous as the petitioner stands acquitted vide judgment dated 15.9.2025 passed by Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate, Samana.
