(ORAL) Present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking directions to respondent No.2 and 3 to protect his life and liberty as well as his family members as they apprehend threat and also a direction to respondent No.2 to take appropriate steps to decide the representation dated 16.07.2021 (Annexure P-2) filed by the petitioner. As per the averments made in the petition, the minor child of the petitioner has been physically abused and on the said allegation, an FIR No.193 dated 12.07.2021, under Sections 376 (AB) and 506 IPC and

-2under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012, has been registered at Police Station Mandi Gobindgarh, District Sri Fatehgarh Sahib against the accused persons. Learned counsel for the petitioner argues that on 15.07.2021, father of the accused along with certain other persons threatened the petitioner to compromise the matter, failing which, the petitioner was threatened with dire consequences. Learned counsel for the petitioner further argues that petitioner has informed the police authorities that there are certain other accused, who if brought before the prosecutor, can be identified for which the petitioner has already filed a representation dated 16.07.2021 (Annexure P-2) before respondent No.2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will be satisfied, at this stage, in case a time bound direction is issued to respondent No.2 to decide the said representation by passing an appropriate speaking order. Notice of motion.

Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, keeping in view the service of advance copy of petition accepts notice on behalf of respondent-State.

Learned State counsel raises no objection with regard to prayer of the petitioner for deciding the representation dated 16.07.2021 (Annexure P-2) by respondent No.2 in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case or the claim being made by the petitioner in representation dated 16.07.2021 (Annexure P-2), respondent No.2 is

-3directed to decide the representation dated 16.07.2021 (Annexure P-2) by passing a speaking order within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Present writ petition stands disposed of.
