This is a petition filed under Section 439 Cr.P.C. seeking regular bail in a case registered against the petitioner vide FIR No. dated 26.08.2014 under Sections 148/149/307/323/325/452/506/302 IPC at Police Station 21.11.2014.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that petitioner has been attributed one blow by wooden stick on the head of an injured witness-Ranjit Kaur. According to him, same has been declared a simple injury, thus, no useful purpose would be served by detaining the petitioner in custody any longer. Learned State counsel has opposed the prayer for bail. He, however, on instructions from ASI Raj Singh, who is present in court, does not dispute the role attributed to the petitioner. I have heard learned counsel for the parties. CRM M-7852 of 2015 attributed to him of causing a simple injury, I am of the considered view that that no useful purpose would be served by detaining him in custody any longer. Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, I deem it appropriate to grant regular bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, petition is allowed and petitioner is ordered to be enlarged on bail to the satisfaction of Chief Judicial Magistrate/Duty Magistrate, Ambala.
