Prayer in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in FIR No.231 dated 19.08.2017 under Sections 452/354/323/506/149 IPC, registered at Police Station Daba, District Ludhiana. It is contended that the allegations in the FIR have been raised against as many as 30 persons, 20-25 being unknown. No specific overt act has been attributed to the present petitioner, who is not involved in any other criminal case. Furthermore, CRM No.M-1292 of 2018 has been filed for quashing of the abovesaid FIR on the basis of compromise arrived at between Omkar Singh 2018.04.19 10:14 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document High Court, Chandigarh

CRM No.M-48096 of 2017 -2the parties. The petitioner, it is submitted, has joined investigation. Therefore, it is prayed that this petition be allowed.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASI Satvinder Singh, verifies that the petitioner has joined investigation and is not involved in any other criminal case. It is not denied that CRM No.M-1292 of 2018 has been filed for quashing of the abovesaid FIR on the basis of a compromise. There are no allegations on behalf of the State that the petitioner is likely to abscond or that he is likely to dissuade the witnesses from deposing true facts before the Court, if released on bail. Keeping in view the facts and circumstances as above but without commenting upon or expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this petition is allowed. Consequently, order dated 21.12.2017 is made absolute. It is clarified that none of the observations made hereinabove shall be construed to be a reflection on the merits of the case. The same are solely confined for the purpose of decision of the present petition. ( LISA GILL ) April 17 , 2018.
