Prayer made in the present petition is for directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner in Govt. service in view of the land acquired for thermal plant at Village Gobindpura, District Mansa. 2.

Learned counsel, on instructions, submits that the present petition be disposed of in terms of CWP No.3398-2018, Gaganpreet Singh vs. State of Punjab and others, and a batch of petitions dated 02.05.2024, to which learned State counsel has no objection, the relevant paras whereof read thus:- "2. The prayer in the present petitions is for quashing the order dated 28.07.2014, Annexure P-3 and Clause 3 & 4 of guidelines dated 03.03.2014 as also the criteria for determining cases of exceptional hardship and further directing the respondents to appoint the petitioners on Government job.

Learned counsel would submit that the petitioners were entitled for appointment in terms of the policy dated 08.11.2011, Annexure P-1 on account of the acquisition of their land having taken place for establishing Peona Power Plant at village Gobindpura. There are different grounds on which their claims HAMANT 2025.01.21 10:06 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CWP-3172-2021 - 2have been rejected by the Deputy Commissioner, which form basis of challenge in these cases but the judgments in their favour that deal with the issues of cutoff date, hardship clause etc., are required to be taken into consideration, for which they pray the higher officer be directed to have a relook in the matter in a time bound manner.

Learned State counsel, on instructions, submits that a High Level Committee consisting of Commissioner Division, Faridkot, District Attorney, Legal, Mansa, District Revenue Officer, Mansa, Sub-divisional Magistrate, Budhlada will be constituted with a representative of the department concerned as well, to look into these aspects.

5. The aforesaid satisfied the learned counsel for the petitioners.

In view of the aforesaid, the present writ petitions stand disposed of for the Committee to be formed to examine the claims of the petitioners afresh within a period of six months, by taking into consideration the pleas and judgments, which the petitioners may raise and cite during course of personal hearing be afforded to them, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, if found entitled, grant them the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to their interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioners shall be free to seek legal redress."

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of in terms of Gaganpreet Singh (supra).
