The present petition has been filed inter alia praying for issuance of writ in the nature of habeas corpus for releasing the detenues namely Nitu Rani @ Neetu and mother Rita Rani, who were apparently detained illegally by the respondents. However, both the detenue were recovered by the Warrant Officer with the help of Police 2.
The matter was referred to the Mediation Centre and as per its report dated 26.09.2023, detenue-Nitu Rani @ Neetu has given her consent to go along with her parents.

It is a serious case and the averments as well as the allegations made in the present petition need to be thoroughly investigated, however, keeping in view the tender age of the detenue-Nitu Rani @ Neetu and the report received from the Mediator, the present petition stands disposed of, directing the detenue Nitu Rani @ Neetu to be released from the Nari Niketan Sector 26, Chandigarh in the safe custody of her mother-Rita Rani. 4.
However, the respondent-authorities are directed to proceed in accordance with law with regard to FIR No. 39 dated 18.04.2023, already lodged. No further orders are required to be passed in the present petition. 5.
Disposed of accordingly.
