AVNEESH JHINGAN, J (Oral):

The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

This is a petition seeking anticipatory bail in FIR No. 325 dated 26.6.2020 under Section 420 IPC, registered at Police Station Sadar Thanesar, District Kurukshetra.

On 24.9.2020, this Court passed the following order: "Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that as per allegations in the FIR, an amount of Rs.2,80,000/- was received by the petitioner in his account and he is ready to deposit the same with the Illaqa Magistrate subject to final outcome of the case.

List again on 1.12.2020.

In the meantime, the petitioner is directed to appear before the Investigating Officer within a period of 10 days to join investigation and he shall be released on interim bail on furnishing bail/surety bonds subject to the following conditions:

1. He shall make himself available for interrogation by a police officer as and when required;

 inducement, threat or promise to any person acquainted with the facts of the case so as to dissuade him from disclosing such facts to the Court or to any police officer; and

3. He shall not leave India without previous permission of the Court.

The petitioner will deposit the aforesaid amount with the Illaqa Magistrate within a period of one month from today, which will be kept in an FDR subject to final outcome of the case."

Report of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kurukshetra dated 15.10.2020 has been received. The same is taken on record. It is mentioned in the report that as per directions of this Court, Rs.2,80,000/- have been deposited by the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that directions of this Court have been complied with and the petitioner has joined the investigation.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASI-Ram Parkash submits that the petitioner has joined the investigation and his custodial interrogation is not required.

In view of the statements made, the order dated 24.9.2020 is made absolute.

The petition stands disposed of.
