The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for directing the respondents to take appropriate action for examination of the official witnesses in case FIR No.124 dated 16.04.2018 registered under Sections 120-B, 307, 148, 149 IPC and Sections 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act, at Police Station Jind Sadar, District Jind.

Learned counsel submits that charges have been framed in the case and PW-1 to PW-17 have been examined before the Court of Additional Sessions Judge, Jind. However, HC Vishal did not appear in spite of execution of bailable warrants, thus non-bailable warrants were issued against him. Further, due to absence of Constable Ankit on 04.05.2023 despite service, bailable warrants were issued against him vide order dated 04.05.2023 and now the case is fixed for 26.05.2023. He further submits that the petitioners have been facing the agony of the trial for more than 5 years despite the fact that material witnesses have not supported the prosecution case but the police officials are not coming forward for MEHAK HURIA 2023.06.20 15:35 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

On having received the advance notice, learned State counsel makes an appearance and submits that sincere efforts shall be made to examine the official witnesses at the earliest possible.
