The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking issuance of directions upon the learned Principal Family Court, Ludhiana to expeditiously decide the petition filed under Section 125 Cr.P.C. bearing No. MNT-660/2020 as well as the execution petition filed for recovery of arrears of maintenance bearing CRM No. 14664 of 2023. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners inter alia submits that the marriage of petitioner No. 1 was solemnized with the respondent on 2.11.2014 as per Sikh rites and ceremonies at Ludhiana. Out of the said wedlock, one son namely Anhadjot Singh i.e. petitioner No. 2 was born on 31.12.2015. Subsequently, some matrimonial discord ensued between both the parties, leading to the filing of the petition under Section 125 Cr.P.C. by the petitioners before the learned Family Court, Ludhiana. It has further been submitted that along with the said petition, the petitioners have also filed an application for grant of ad interim maintenance. Vide order dated 18.5.2023 (Annexure P-2), the said application was allowed by the learned Family Court, Ludhiana and ad interim maintenance to the tune of Rs. 10,000/- per Gurpreet Singh 2025.07.22 15:33 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

CRM-M-22576-2025 -2month and Rs. 5,000/- per month was awarded to petitioners No. 1 and 2 respectively. It has also been submitted that vide order dated 6.8.2024 passed by the learned Family Court concerned, the respondent was directed to clear 50% of the arrears of maintenance before the next of hearing. However, the respondent has failed to comply with the said order, due to which the petitioners are facing undue hardship and harassment. The learned counsel has also placed on record copies of the zimni orders to show that till date no payment on behalf of the respondent has been made. Therefore, it is prayed that the learned Family Court, Ludhiana be directed to decide both the petitions (supra) expeditiously.

Keeping in view peculiar facts and circumstances of the present case and the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned Family Court, Ludhiana is encouraged to decide both the petitions (supra) expeditiously and within a time bound manner. 4.

The present petition stands disposed of in the above terms. 5.

Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any, also stands disposed of.
