MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (ORAL) The petitioner is seeking issuance of directions to respondents No.2 to protect the life and liberty of petitioner at the hands of respondent No.2 and to decide his representation dated 06.04.2024 (Annexure P-3).

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is apprehending threats at the hands of his daughter-in-law and son respondents No.4 and 5 respectively, both of whom have been pelting bricks and stones at his house and his shop. He submits that a representation dated 06.04.2024 (Annexure P-3) in the said regard was also made to the SHO, Police Station Division No.3, Jalandhar, with a copy to Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar City. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if directions are issued to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar City, to look into the representation dated 06.04.2024 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner and take appropriate steps in PUNEET SACHDEVA 2024.05.16 14:42 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Navdeep Singh, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the State.

In view of the restricted prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner, the instant petition is disposed of with directions to respondent No.2-Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate, Jalandhar City, to look into the representation dated 06.04.2024 (Annexure P-3) of the petitioner and take appropriate steps, if required, in accordance with law.
