JITENDRA CHAUHAN J. (ORAL) The matter has been taken up through video-conferencing in the light of the pandemic COVID-19 situation and as per instructions. This criminal writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondent Nos. 2 and 3 for protection of life and liberty of the petitioners at the behest of respondent Nos. 4 to 8. Learned counsel for the petitioners states that petitioner Nos. 1 and 2 solemnized their marriage in the year 2019. They approached this Court by way of filing protection petition vide CRM-M-10347-2019. However, the private respondents have not been able to reconcile with the factum of marriage between petitioner Nos. 1 and 2 and have again started JYOTI 2020.08.26 02:53 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

The Court at this stage is not inclined to issue notice of motion. A complete set of paper book has already been handed over to learned State counsel.

Without expressing any opinion with regard to validity of marriage of petitioner Nos. 1 & 2 and on the merits of the assertions made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent No. 2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Fazilka to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioners and their family members at the hands of the private respondents is fully protected .
