Petitioner has sought pre-arrest bail in a case registered against him under Sections 406 & 420 IPC vide FIR No. 17 dated 16.01.2015 IPC at Police Station Model Town, District Hoshiarpur. I have heard learned counsel for the parties. It appears that FIR was registered against Harmit Singh (petitioner herein) and Amandeep Singh on the statement of complainant Balbir Singh that accused fraudulently took `19.00 lacs, passport, some certificates and photographs belonging to Amarjit Singh son of complainant on the pretext of sending him to Canada during the period 2012-13. Petitioner neither stood by his promise nor returned the amount. In this manner, he cheated the complainant and his son. Even photocopy of visa was handed-over to the accused.

In view of serious nature of allegations, I am of the considered view that no case for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner is made out. Dismissed.
