Petitioner Amritpal Singh has come up in this civil writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing the official respondents to protect the life and personal liberty of the petitioner and that of his girl friend Jashanpreet Kaur @ Jashan at the hands of private respondents.

However, this will not be construed as bestowing of legitimacy of relationship so claimed by the petitioner with Jashanpreet Kaur @ Jashan. The petition stands disposed off.
