The instant petition has been filed for issuance of a direction to the State to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and her family members at the hands of private respondents as also for taking action against the private respondents and the concerned Station House Officer. In response to the notice issued by this Court a status report/reply has been filed by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Police District Batala, as per which the issues raised in the petition were got inquired into by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Dera Baba Nanak, who after finding prima facie truth in the case set up by the petitioner recommended lodging of FIR under Sections 354, 323, 506 and 34 IPC against the private respondents which after approval by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, has been duly registered and is being investigated by the SHO, Police Station Dera Baba Nanak. -2CRWP-6261 of 2020 Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, has further stated that there is no threat perception to the petitioner from the accused persons. However, she has been provided mobile numbers of the concerned Deputy Superintendent of Police as also the SHO with the request that in case she needs any protection/security she may call them immediately. In view of the above stand taken on behalf of the State no further orders are required to be passed and accordingly the present petition is disposed of but with a direction that the investigation in the aforesaid FIR be conducted by the concerned Deputy Superintendent of Police who has already held an inquiry in the matter and is well-versed with the facts thereof.
