(ORAL) This petition has been filed by the petitioners allegedly in public interest complaining of inaction on the part of the respondent-authorities in de-silting the open storm drain connecting to Delhi behind the Green Belt area of F-Block, Palam Vihar, Gurugram, Haryana.

From a perusal of page 18 of the writ petition, it appears that the respondent-authorities have already undertaken the work of de-silting the open storm drain, but had to stop it on account of objections raised by the residents of Palam Vihar, Gurugram to the effect that the same be simultaneously covered with a slab. The respondent-authorities are now in the process of preparing the estimates for casting slab over the open storm drain. When confronted with the aforesaid aspect, one of the petitioners appearing in person submits that the writ petition may be disposed of with liberty to approach the respondent-authorities for taking emergent steps so that the matter may be taken to a logical conclusion.

In view of the aforesaid prayer made by the petitioner and taking on record the fact that the respondent-authorities are in the process of taking necessary steps, the writ petition is disposed of with liberty to approach the respondent-authorities for expediting the same.
