The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of notice dated 24.02.2026 whereby respondent has raised demand of Rs.41,171/- under Section 135 of Electricity Act, 2003 besides proposing compounding fee of Rs.9,000/-.

Ms. Archana Arora, Advocate has filed memo of appearance on behalf of respondents No.1 and 2. The same is taken on record. Registry is directed to tag the same at an appropriate place. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that demand relates to inspection conducted on 13.02.2026 and petitioner sold subjected property in 2024. The property stands registered in favour of buyer. He is no more owner of the property still police authorities as well as respondents are attempting to take coercive steps against him. Learned counsel for the respondent submits that final order is yet to be passed. The petitioner has filed reply and competent authority would pass an appropriate order after considering his reply. The petitioner may be directed to submit documents disclosing that he has already sold the property where electricity meter was installed. 5.

Learned counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of with a direction to petitioner to submit documents relating to ownership of property within three days from today. The respondent shall pass a speaking order with respect to petitioner's liability within two weeks from today. In the meantime, no coercive steps shall be taken against him.
