NARESH KUMAR SANGHI, J (Oral) Prayer in the present petition, filed under Section 482, Cr.P.C., is for issuance of a direction to respondent Nos. 2 to 4 to properly investigate FIR No. 9, dated 14.1.2012 (Annexure P-1), for the offences punishable under Sections 120-B, 123, 171-E, 171-F and 292 (2), IPC, registered at Police Station, Sadar, Amritsar.

CRM-M-7745-2016 petitioner very fairly concedes that the petitioner, Gaganpreet Kaur, is neither an informant nor the accused. When it was asked as to how the petitioner has locus standi to file the present petition, learned proxy counsel could not answer the said query. In the matter of Simranjit Singh Mann v. Union of India and another, (1992) 4 SCC 653, Hon'ble the Supreme Court has held that a person unknown to the criminal proceedings cannot have the right to set the law in motion. Dismissed.
