Through the instant petition, the petitioner has sought issuance of directions upon the respondents No.1 to 3, to conduct a free and impartial investigation qua the complaint filed against him, by the respondent No.4.

At the very outset, the learned State counsel has drawn attention of this Court towards the status report dated 07.07.2023, as filed on affidavit of Surendra Lamba, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, wherein, it is disclosed that, after investigation, the complaint (supra) has already been closed, as no action was required to be taken thereon.

In view of the specific averment made by the respondentState, in the status report (supra), neither any cause of action survives, nor any further action is warranted. Consequently, the instant petition is dismissed, as having been rendered infructuous. However, petitioner is at liberty to take all available remedies as per law.
