**** NIDHI GUPTA, J. (ORAL) Prayer in the present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for quashing of FIR No.225 dated 20.10.2018 under Sections 498-A, 406 and 120-B IPC registered at Police Station City Moga, District Moga (Annexure P-1).

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASI Malkeet Singh, informs this Court that the present petition has been rendered infructuous as the cancellation report has been prepared in the present case and is likely to be filed before the concerned Court within a period of 4 weeks from today.

It is further informed that the complainant/respondent No.2 has settled the matter with the accused persons including the petitioners herein vide Settlement/Agreement dated 20.02.2019. As stated in para 9(b) of the said Settlement, complainant/respondent No.2 will have no objection if the above-mentioned FIR is quashed qua the petitioners. CRM-M-50201-2018 (O&M) - 2is further informed that the accused party shall pay total amount of Rs.5,30,000/- to the complainant of which Rs.2 lacs already stood paid on 20.02.2019 i.e. on the date of Settlement. Perusal of the order sheets shows that on the last 2 dates of hearing i.e. 22.12.2022 and 11.09.2023, none appeared on behalf of the petitioners. Today also, there is no representation on behalf of the petitioners.

In view of the above, no further directions are required to be issued in the present matter.

The present petition stands disposed of. However, in case anything survives, liberty is granted to the petitioners to revive the same within 4 weeks from today, if so advised.
