(Oral) This petition under Section 226 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of direction to respondent Nos. 2 & 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners and further to ensure that they may not be harassed by respondent No. 4, as the petitioners have solemnized marriage against the wishes of their parents.

On asking of the Court, Ms. Samina Dhir, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State.
This petition is being disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioners to approach respondent No. 2-S.S.P Gurdaspur, District Gurdaspur, for protection, as per instructions dated 10.08.2010 issued by Home Department, Punjab who will look into their representation dated 19.08.2020(P-4).
