JITENDRA CHAUHAN J. (ORAL) The matter has been taken up through video-conferencing in the light of the pandemic COVID-19 situation and as per instructions. This criminal writ petition has been filed under Articles 226, 227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondent Nos. 1 to 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the instance of respondent Nos. 4 and 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner states that petitioner No. 1 being major has been residing with the family of petitioner No. 2. They are in love affair and propose to solemnize marriage after petitioner No. 2 attains majority. CRWP-6322-2020 -2of the petitioners at the hands of respondent Nos. 4 and 5, who are parents of petitioner No. 1. Petitioner No. 1 made a representation dated 17.08.2020 (Annexure P-5) to respondent No. 2-Superintendent of Police, Kaithal. Notice of motion.

At the asking of the Court, Mr. Vikrant Pamboo, D.A.G., Haryana, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. A complete copy of the paper book has already been furnished to learned State counsel. Without expressing any opinion with regard to validity of relationship and on the merits of the assertions made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with the direction to respondent No. 2Superintendent of Police, Kaithal to get the statement of petitioner No. 1 be recorded. In case it is found that petitioner No. 1 is voluntarily residing with the family of petitioner No. 2, necessary protection be allowed to them as per law.
