This petition has been filed for quashing of FIR No.291 dated 08.11.2002, under Sections 323/324/325/326/148/149/120B IPC registered at police station Banga, District Nawanshahr on the basis of a settlement arrived at between the parties.

CRM No.M-9531 of 2014 [2] This Court on 30.10.2014 had directed the parties to appear before the learned trial court for recording their statements in respect to the genuineness of the settlement.

Pursuant to order dated 30.10.2014, a report dated 01.12.2014 has been received from the learned Judicial Magistrate First Class, SBS Nagar wherein it is observed that the settlement had indeed been arrived at between the parties voluntarily.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASI Pardeep Kumar, submits that a cancellation report has been recommended to be filed in this case.

Keeping in view the statement made by learned State counsel, it is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that at this stage this petition has been rendered infructuous and may be disposed of accordingly. Petition is disposed of accordingly.

However, liberty is afforded to the petitioners to approach this Court in case the cancellation report is not acted upon. ( LISA GILL ) February 27, 2015.
