***** Rakesh Kumar Jain, J. (Oral) This petition is filed by a war widow seeking to set aside the orders dated 01.07.2009, 17.07.2009 and 22.07.2009 passed by the authorities below.

Shorn of unnecessary details, the controversy involved in this case is only with regard to the allotment of the land to the petitioner as per the policy of the State. In the affidavit dated 03.02.2017 filed by Ravinder Kumar Kakar, Under Secretary to Government of Punjab, Department of Revenue and Rehabilitation, Punjab, Chandigarh, the following averments have been made:- "That accordingly, Government offered the land to the petitioner in village Hakimpura Tehsil Nabha District Patiala but she refused to accept the same on the ground that the land is far from her place of residence. Copy of the report of Deputy Commissioner, Patiala dated 08.09.2015 is attached as Annexure R-II." Counsel for the petitioner, after receiving instructions from the petitioner, has stated at the bar that the petitioner is ready and willing to take

CWP No.16998 of 2009 [ 2 ] ***** the land in village Hakimpura but has prayed that the said land should be suitable and cultivable.

Ms. Deepali Puri, learned State counsel, has stated at the bar in terms of the aforesaid affidavit dated 03.02.2017, that the petitioner would be allotted suitable and cultivable land in village Hakimpura, Tehsil Nabha, District Patiala, as per the letter of allotment. In view of the afore-mentioned statements made counsel for the parties, the present petition is disposed of. However, it is needless to mention that the proceedings of allotment of land to the petitioner, with possession free from any encumbrance, shall be completed by the respondents within a period of three months from today.
