Present petition has been filed by the petitioners, seeking issuance of direction to the official respondents, to protect their life and liberty from the hands of private respondents Nos.4 to 6. 2.

Since both the petitioners as well as private respondent Nos.4 to 6 are residents of the State of Himachal Pradesh, this Court, vide order dated 20.04.2026, had directed the State to verify the credentials and status of the petitioners, including their permanent place of residence. 3.

Today, learned State counsel, upon instructions from ASI Jagtar Singh, submits that as per the verification conducted, both the petitioners have been residing at the given address in Jalandhar for the last five years.

It is further submitted that statement of Rajinder Kumar Juneja, Municipal Councillor, has also been recorded in this regard and, LAVISHA 2026.05.08 15:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document PHHC, Chandigarh

CRWP-4531-2026 -2as per the statements of the witnesses, there is no apprehension to the life or liberty of the petitioners at present. Thus, learned State counsel submits that no further directions are required to be passed for protection of the petitioners' life and liberty.

In view of the above, present petition is disposed of, with the observation that, in case, petitioners, at any future point of time, apprehend any threat to their life or liberty, they shall be at liberty to move an appropriate application before respondent No.2 - Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, who shall examine the same, strictly in accordance with law.
