**** Manjari Nehru Kaul, J.(Oral) Prayer in the instant petition is for issuance of appropriate directions to the official respondents to look into the complaint/representation dated 01.02.2023 and 05.05.2023 (Annexures P-3 and 4) made by the petitioner. Learned counsel submits that despite representation dated 05.05.2023 (Annexure P-4) having been made to respondent No.3 qua the fraud and cheating committed by the private respondent, the authorities concerned had failed to initiate any action against her. Learned counsel contends that since the private respondent was involved in the commission of cognizable offences, the official respondents were under a legal obligation to proceed against her under the provisions of law. A prayer has been made by the learned counsel that she would be satisfied if respondent No.3 is directed to look into her representation dated 05.05.2023 (Annexure P-4) and take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

In the wake of the limited prayer of the petitioner, the respondent No.3 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur, is directed to look into her grievance and take appropriate action, if any required, under the provisions of law. However, if respondent No.3 does not find the commission of any cognizable offence as alleged or any substance in the allegations levelled in the representation dated 05.05.2023 (Annexure P-4), then the petitioner shall be duly informed as per the parameters laid down by the Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari v.
