The petitioner has approached this Court seeking grant of anticipatory bail in respect of complaint No.COMI/100/2016 dated 24.5.2016 titled as 'Jagdish Chand Vs. Ravi and others', wherein the petitioner has been ordered to be summoned alongwith other accused to face trial in respect of offences punishable under Sections 302, 304-B and 34 of Indian Penal Code. 2.

It is the case of the complainant that his daughter Upasana was married to Ravi @ Bunty on 19.9.2010 but she used to be harassed by her in-laws in order to press upon their demands of dowry and being fed up with the harassment, the complainant's daughter allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her matrimonial home on 29.4.2016. In the present case, the husband of the deceased and the father-in-law of the deceased have already been granted anticipatory bail vide order dated 9.2.2017.

Since the trial arises in respect of a private complaint, it is a not a case warranting any custodial interrogation. Pursuant to interim directions issued by this Court on 21.11.2018, the petitioner has already appeared before the trial Court and has furnished bail bonds/surety bonds. In these circumstances, the petition merits acceptance more particularly on grounds of parity and is hereby accepted and the interim directions issued by this Court vide order 21.11.2018 are hereby made absolute. The petitioner shall, however, ensure his presence before the trial Court on each and every date. 5.
