The petitioner prays for grant of pre-arrest bail in a criminal case arising from FIR No. 42 dated 23.05.2019, registered under Section 61/1/14 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914, at Police Station Sanaur, District Patiala.

As per the case of the prosecution, the petitioner had smuggled 20 boxes of liquor in his car from the State of Haryana. The petitioner could not be arrested at the spot, however, the car from where 240 bottles of liquor were recovered, belongs to him. . The petitioner also does not have clean criminal antecedents as he is also involved in another criminal case arising from FIR No. 176 dated 11.08.2018, registered under Section 61 of The Punjab Excise Act,1914, at Police Station Bhawanigarh, District Sangrur, DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2020.09.22 12:21 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document when 118 bottles of smuggled liquor were alleged to be recovered from him.

Criminal Misc. No. M- 24450 of 2020 There was yet another case against the petitioner vide FIR No. 06 dated 20.01.2011 wherein he has been acquitted. Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, this Court is not inclined to grant the concession of pre-arrest bail to the petitioner. Hence, the present petition is dismissed.
