**** M.S. RAMACHANDRA RAO, J. (ORAL) Petitioners seek protection of their life and liberty as they apprehend danger at the hands of respondents No.4 to 8 because they have solemnized marriage on 12.06.2022 against the wishes of said respondents. Learned counsel for the petitioners identifies the petitioners on the basis of documents attached. It is contended that petitioners are major, their dates of birth being 01.01.1993 and 20.07.1999, respectively. Aadhar cards of both the petitioners are appended with the petition as Annexures P-1 and P-2, respectively. Marriage Certificate and photographs are also on record as Annexures P-3 and P-4, respectively. It is submitted that there is no impediment to the marriage of the petitioners. It is further submitted that the petitioners have submitted representation (Annexure P-5) to respondent No.2 i.e. the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar (Rural), for redressal of their grievance but no action has been taken thereon.

Without commenting upon the age of the petitioners or validity of their marriage or validity and genuineness of the certificates/documents appended with the petition, respondent No.2-the Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar (Rural), is directed to look into representation (Annexure P-5) submitted by the petitioners, and take appropriate action if any/as may be required, keeping in view the threat perception to the petitioners.

Petition is disposed of accordingly.
