******* SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) The petitioners have sought relief of protection of their life and liberty from illegal and unlawful police action and to direct the official respondents not to register any false and fake FIR against them at the behest of private respondents No. 5 to 8.

Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Rajpal Singh submits that after investigation the police has already registered a case bearing FIR No. 16, dated 09.02.2018 against 16 accused including petitioners for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 506, 120-B of Indian Penal Code and Sections 7, 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act. Out of 16 accused named in the FIR, 2 have been allowed bail by the Court of Sessions at Fazilka while 2 have obtained the bail from this Court. The police is searching for the remaining accused who have not been arrested so far. This petition has been filed by the petitioners to shield them from arrest in that case.
