Rajbir Kaur v. State Of Punjab
In the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, at Chandigarh Criminal Misc. No. M-23831 of 2019 Date of Decision: 23.05.2019 Rajbir Kaur ... Petitioner(s)
Versus
State of Punjab ... Respondent(s) CORAM: Hon'ble Mr. Justice Shekher Dhawan.
Present:
Mr. Ravneet Singh Joshi, Advocate for the petitioner(s).
Shekher Dhawan, J.
Present petition under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for issuance of directions to the learned trial Court to adopt the mode of service of summons through digital means i.e. email in criminal proceedings. Learned counsel for the petitioner fairly conceded that there is no such provision for sending notice or warrants through email in criminal proceedings and as such there is no illegality in the order dated 14.02.2019, passed by the learned trial Court and on that ground, present petition is not maintainable.
As regard to prayer made by the petitioner for decision of the case in a time bound manner, present petition stands disposed of with the directions to the learned trial Court to expedite the proceedings so that trial of the case may be concluded in a time bound manner as the FIR was got registered in this case in the year 2016.
