The prayer in the present petition under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for the issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus for appointment of a Warrant Officer to search for the detenue namely Jaskaren Singh S/o Avtar Singh, husband of the petitioner, from the illegal custody of the local Police Station Baghapurana.

None has appeared on behalf of the petitioner. 3.
On 18.04.2026, the following order was passed:- "This is a criminal writ petition filed under Section 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for the release of the detenue, namely, Jaskaren Singh S/o Avtar Singh, who is stated to be in illegal detention of respondent No.4 to 11.
Notice of motion for 23.04.2026.
Meanwhile, the Registry is directed to appoint a Warrant Officer, who shall search for the whereabouts of the alleged detenue, at the address(s) mentioned in the petition or at any other place(s) as may be indicated by the petitioner, and if, the alleged detenue is found to be in illegal custody of respondent No.4 to 11, he be got released forthwith. The fee of KUSUM 2026.05.15 16:51 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document PHHC Chandigarh the Warrant Officer shall be determined by the Registry as per
CRWP-4501-2026 -2Rules and borne by the petitioner. The report of the Warrant Officer be also placed on record before the next date of hearing."

Thereafter, on 23.04.2026, the following order was passed:- "As per the report of the Warrant Officer, the detenue namely Jaskaren Singh, was found in an unconscious state with his hands tied behind his back and his legs bound with a yellow cloth, in the fields of Santokh Singh/respondent No.10. The State shall file a reply as to whether the statement of detenue/Jaskaren Singh has been recorded regarding the manner in which he came to be found in the condition as aforesaid.
Adjourned to 15.05.2026."

In furtherance of the aforementioned orders, multiple statements of detenue namely Jaskaren Singh have been recorded, wherein he has stated that he does not wish to seek any action to be taken against anyone and does not remember as to how he came to be found in a semi-conscious condition from the fields. He has further sated that he was never held captive by the police officials of Police Station Baghapurana.

In view of the above, no further orders are required to be passed by this Court.
