**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Through this second petition, the petitioner seeks regular bail in case bearing FIR No.8 dated 26.01.2022, registered under Section 15(b) of the NDPS Act, at Police Station City Malout, District Sri Muktsar Sahib.

Status report by way of an affidavit dated 17.07.2023 of the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Malout, District Sri Muktsar Sahib, filed on behalf of the respondent-State, in the Court, is taken on record. Copy whereof has been supplied to the learned counsel opposite.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the FIR was registered way back on 26.01.2022, yet the fact remains that only three prosecution witnesses have been examined, so far and that despite of availing more than 20 opportunities, the prosecution has failed AMAN JAIN 2023.07.18 17:49 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-27300-2023 (O&M) -2to conclude its evidence. He confines his arguments to the extent that the trial Court be directed to conclude the trial, within a stipulated period of time.

Learned State counsel has no objection if the limited aforesaid prayer of the learned counsel for the petitioner is allowed. In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the learned trial Court concerned to make the best endeavour to conclude the trial, at the earliest.
