2023:PHHC:102028
IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT
CHANDIGARH CRM-M-26993-2022 (O&M) Date of Decision: 07.08.2023 HARJINDER SINGH @ RINKU ... Petitioner
Versus
STATE OF PUNJAB ... Respondent CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE HARNARESH SINGH GILL
Present:
Mr. Amit Arora, Advocate for the petitioner.
Mr. Gurdarshan Singh Sidhu, AAG, Punjab.
**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Through this petition, the petitioner seeks regular bail in case bearing FIR No.155 dated 13.10.2018, registered under Section 22 of the NDPS Act, at Police Station Goindwal Sahib, District Tarn Taran. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that though the FIR was registered way back on 13.10.2018, yet the fact remains that till date prosecution evidence has not been concluded. He confines his argument to the extent that the Court below be directed to expedite the trial and conclude the same, in a time bound manner. Learned State counsel has not objection if the aforesaid limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner is allowed. In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of with directions to the learned trial Court to make the best efforts to conclude the trial, at the earliest.
