(ORAL) The instant petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus seeking directions to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of private respondents. In compliance of order dated 17.05.2024, learned State counsel, on instructions, has submitted that the statements of both the parties have been recorded and they have categorically stated that there exists no threat perception to their life and liberty. Learned State counsel, however, submits that in case, in future the petitioners are extended any threats, the official respondents would look into the same and take appropriate steps in accordance with law.
