(ORAL) The instant petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 to 5 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners, who apprehend threat to their life at the hands of private respondents No.6 and 7. 2.
Mr. Suresh Kumar Aneja, Advocate, has entered appearance on behalf of respondents No.6 and 7 and filed power of attorney and memorandum of appearance and respectively, which are taken on record.

In compliance of order dated 16.05.2024, status report by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, City-I, District S.A.S. Nagar, has been filed in Court, which is taken on record subject to just exceptions.

Learned State counsel has drawn the attention of this Court to paragraph 4 of the status report, wherein it stands averred that two police officials have been assigned duty on rotational basis to ensure that PUNEET SACHDEVA 2024.05.18 14:36 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh the life and liberty of the petitioner, who are presently lodged at the
CRWP-4577-2024 -2Protection Home, Mohali, is protected. Besides this, learned State counsel has submitted that a PCR party has also been specifically deputed to patrol the area of the Protection Home. In addition, learned counsel has submitted that the petitioners have been provided with the mobile phone number of MHC, Police Station Phase-I, Mohali, as well as S.H.O, Police Station Phase-I, Mohali, along with emergency helpline No.112 to contact them in case of any emergency or threat. 5.
A copy of the status report has been provided to the counsel opposite, who has gone through the same. He submits that in the wake of the status report filed by way of affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, City-I, District S.A.S. Nagar, the present petition be disposed of.
