**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI , J. (ORAL) In the present writ petition, the petitioners are seeking a direction from this Court to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect their life and liberty as they apprehend danger from respondents No. 4 to 7. As per the averments stated in the writ petition, petitioners are major and have solemnized their marriage though against the wishes of their respective parents, who are not agreeable to their marriage. It is the apprehension of the petitioners that respondents No.4 to 7 might cause physical harm to them.
From the pleadings, it transpires that after solemnizing their marriage, petitioners have sent a representation dated 20.05.2019 (Annexure P-7) to respondents No. 2 and 3.

CWP-13914-2019 -2Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 to 3 only. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Mehardeep Singh, Additional Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3.
Without making any observation on the merits of the case, especially in respect of the marriage solemnized by the petitioners, a direction is issued to respondents No. 2 and 3 that in case the petitioners approach them for the grant of protection, as they apprehend danger to their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7, appropriate action, as required under law be taken to ensure that the life and liberty of the petitioners is not compromised in any manner. It is clarified that this order shall not be treated as an approval of this Court about the marriage of the parties and no opinion with regard to the validity of the marriage has been expressed in this order.
Let this order be conveyed by counsel for respondents No.1 to 3 to the concerned authorities for the implementation of the same. Present writ petition stands disposed of.
