By virtue of instant petition preferred under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, petitioner has sought issuance of writ of mandamus to release salary for the period 01.07.2003 to 27.09.2004, which comes to Rs.5,91,043/- and other dues i.e. gratuity, leave encashment, provident fund and additional dearness allowances.

Undisputably, the provisions contained under Section 2(e) of the Punjab Affiliated Colleges (Security of Service of Employees) Act, 1974 are applicable as only work charged employee has been excluded from the definition but matter falls under Section 7-A(12) of the Act. Accordingly, the instant petition is disposed of in terms of CWP No. 6702 of 2016, decided on 08.04.2016.
