The present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family at the hands of respondents No.5 to 7. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that for redressal of his grievance, the petitioner has already filed representations dated nil and 04.04.2026 (Annexures P-10 & P-13 respectively) before the Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga, however, no action has been taken on the same till date.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Navraj S. Mahal, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. 5.

CRWP No.4714 of 2026 -2the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, Moga, to decide the representations dated nil and 04.04.2026 (Annexures P-10 & P-13 respectively) filed by the petitioner, qua threat perception in accordance with law within a period of one month from today and grant immediate protection, if any threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner and his family, is perceived. 6.

It is being clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioner for legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by her.
