The petitioners seek issuance of a direction to respondent No.2 to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same hands of respondent No.4.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioners and without commenting anything as regards the veracity of averments made in the petition, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to Commissioner of Police, Gurugram, Haryana to look into the matter and to get the representation dated 18.5.2023 (although addressed to Superintendent of Police, Gurugram, District Gurugram) (Annexure P-9) examined to the limited extent of the alleged threat perception of the petitioners. In case, it is found that there is any genuine threat to the lives and liberty of the petitioners, then necessary MOHAN SINGH 2023.05.22 17:52 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRWP-4999-2023 (O&M) ( 2 ) 2023:PHHC:073842 steps as warranted under law be taken thereupon at the earliest so as to ensure that no harm is caused to the petitioners. 3.

Needless to mention, in case the petitioners are required to be associated with any inquiry in the capacity of witnesses or are required in connection with some FIR lodged in respect of a cognizable offence, then provisions of Sections 160 or 41 Cr.P.C. as may be applicable shall be complied with. 4.

A copy of this order alongwith copy of the representation dated 18.5.2023 (Annexure P-9) be sent to Commissioner of Police, Gurugram, Haryana so as to enable him to do the needful expeditiously. 4.

It is clarified that the aforesaid directions are not to be construed to confer any immunity upon the petitioners in case it is found that they have committed any wrong.
