The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus and for appointment of Warant Officer with a roving writ to search for detenue, namely Amandeep Kaur wife of Jaspal Singh from the illegal custody of respondents No. 5 to 7. 2.

Mr. J.S.Bains, Advocate appears and filed his Vakalatnama on behalf of respondent No. 5 in the Court today and the same is taken on record. 3.

In pursuance to the order passed by this Court on 29.04.2026, the alleged detenue, Amandeep Kaur, has been produced by SI Aarzoo 858/PAP before this Court and upon a query being put to her regarding illegal detention, she stated that she is major and wants to live with respondent No.5 namely Gurbir Singh with her own free will and without any coercion. Her statement to this effect has been recorded and taken on record. 4.
