The petitioner duly identified by her counsel is present in Court. It is submitted that the petitioner restricts her prayer in this case for a direction to the official respondents to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner and her family members. In respect to the marriage solemnized between the petitioner and respondent No.4, it is stated, the petitioner shall take recourse to the remedies as may be available to her. It is averred that when the petitioner was going to the college on 30.01.2017, she was enticed by respondent No.4. It is contended that taking benefit of the intoxicant given to the petitioner, marriage was solemnized by respondent No.4 with her at Mansa Devi Temple. She was thereafter forced by respondent No.4 on 01.02.2017 to approach this Court by way of filing CRM No.M-3377 of 2017. CRM No.M-6044 of 2017 [2] out of her own free will and does not wish to live with respondent No.4. Respondent No.4 is threatening her with dire consequences if she does not come and reside with him. In this respect, a representation has been submitted by the petitioner to respondent No.2 i.e., the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala.
Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and considering the peculiar facts of this case but without commenting upon or expressing any opinion on the merit of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to look into the matter in respect to the protection of life and liberty of the petitioner and her family members at the hands of respondent No.4 and take necessary action, if any/as may be required in accordance with law.
