Petitioner No.1 - Neha aged about 19 years and petitioner No.2 - Lovepreet Singh aged about 18 years, both of whom are in a 'live-in' relationship, seek issuance of a direction to the official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondent Nos.4 to 9, who do not approve of their 'live-in' relationship. 2.

Learned State counsel, upon instructions from ASI Maninder Singh, has informed that inquiries had been made by the police and both the petitioners have stated that they do not apprehend any threat to their lives and liberty from members of their families as of now.

Faced with the aforestated position, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he may be permitted to withdraw the present petition at this stage.
