Present petition has been filed under section 482 of BNSS (old Section 438 Cr.P.C.) for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner, in case, FIR No.278 dated 15.12.2025, under sections 333, 118(1), 115(2), 351(2), 324(4), 191, 190 of BNS and section 118(2) of BNS added later on (Old Section 452, 324, 323, 506, 427, 146, 149 IPC and section 326 of IPC added later on), registered at Police Station Sadar Faridkot, District Faridkot.

Complainant-Lakha Singh, got the FIR registered alleging that on 14.12.2025, after casting votes in the Block Samiti elections, he, along with his wife Kuldeep Kaur and mother Mukhtiar Kaur, returned to their house. At about 3:00-3:30 PM, while complainant was present in the house, the accused persons, namely (1) Harman Gharu (armed with a kirpan), (2) Nishan Singh (armed with a kirpan), (3) Jashandeep Singh (present petitioner, armed with kappa), (4) Mandeep Singh alias Deepu (armed with a baseball bat), (5) Sukha Singh (armed with a kappa), and
(6) Balkar Singh (armed with kappa), along with 2-3 unidentified persons, allegedly trespassed into the complainant's house and caused injuries to him.

As per the allegations, complainant sustained two incised wounds on the head and one incised injury on the right forearm. For reference, same are reproduced here under:- Sr.

Injury Details Injury Number 1.
A C-shaped incised wound measuring 2 cm x 0.5 cm is present over the posterior aspect of the right forearm with its convex side facing downwards, placed 13.9 cm below the elbow joint. Margins are clean out. Fresh bleeding is present.

A lacerated wound measuring 2.3 cm x 0.3 cm is present obliquely over the left side of the forehead, placed 2 cm above outer end of the left eyebrow and 5.7 cm to the left of the midline. Margins are irregular. Fresh bleeding is present. Associated with an underlying reddish bruise of size 5 cm x 3.7 cm.

An incised wound measuring 7.5 cm x 0.5 cm is present obliquely over the right occipitoparietal region of the head. The outer end is placed 10.2 cm above the top of the right ear and 14.8 cm from the occipital protuberance and the inner end is placed 16 cm above the top of the right ear and 9.7 cm above the occipital protuberance. Margins are clean cut. Fresh bleeding is present. 4.
Petitioner is attributed an injury to complainant's right arm with kappa and it was opined as simple in nature. Since petitioner is alleged to be a member of an unlawful assembly and have trespassed into the house of the complainant while armed with a sharp-edged weapon, along with other accused, who caused grievous injuries, including injuries on the head, custodial interrogation appears to be necessary in the facts and circumstances of the present case.

Accordingly, this Court does not find any sufficient or justifiable ground to extend the concession of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Consequently, present petition stands dismissed.
