This is a petition moved under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (corresponding Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973) for directing the respondents to consider and decide the representation dated 16.02.2026 (Annexure P-1) submitted by the petitioner for transfer of her son, Harpreet Singh Aulakh, from Central Jail, Gurdasput to Central Jail, Amritsar on compassionate medical grounds, keeping in view that the petitioner is a senior citizen suffering from multiple serious health ailments and faces serious difficulty in meeting her son.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner will be satisfied in case a direction be issued to respondent No.2 to look into the representation dated 16.02.2026 (Annexure P-1), within a time bound manner.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Sahil Chowdhary, AAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. 5.

Without adverting to the merits of the case and in view of the statement made by learned counsel for the petitioner, respondent No.2Additional Director General of Police (Prisons), Punjab, is directed to look into the representation dated 16.02.2026 (Annexure P-1) and decide the same expeditiously in accordance with law.
