Admittedly, during pendency of this petition, charge has also been framed in this case. However, trial has not proceeded as proceedings against the petitioner were stayed by this court. At this stage, Mr. Ghai, after arguing at some length submits that he may be allowed to withdraw this petition with liberty to raise all the pleas before the trial court at the appropriate stage. He, however, prays that occurrence pertains to year 1990 and proceedings have been pending since then. A direction may, thus, be issued to the trial court to expedite the same. In view of above, present petition is dismissed as withdrawn with aforesaid liberty. It is directed that trial court shall endeavor to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible.
