This criminal miscellaneous petition has been filed by the petitioner under Section 482 Cr.P.C. with a prayer for issuance of appropriate order or direction to the respondents to provide security to the petitioner to protect his life, liberty and dignity. I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and have gone through the record.

I have perused the representation dated 13.1.2017 sent by the present petitioner to the Director General of Police, Punjab. A perusal of the representation shows that general fear has been shown by the petitioner. No threat has been given by anybody. The representation is of general nature. It has been stated by the petitioner that he is Chief Editor of newspaper "Sabse Tej' and he is also RTI activist, therefore, he feels threat so that he may take back his complaints. Cr. Misc. No.M-6240 of 2017 [2] try to implicate him in false and frivolous cases to defame him. No name of anybody or any association etc. has been mentioned. No particulars of threat have been given. Therefore, from the record, I find that there is no serious threat to the life and liberty of the petitioner. Therefore, finding no ground to provide security to the petitioner, this petition is dismissed.
