CORAM: HON'BLE MS. JUSTICE RITU BAHRI

Present:

Mr. K.L. Saini, Advocate, for the petitioner. *** Ritu Bahri, J. (Oral) This petition under Section 226/227 of the Constitution of India is for issuance of direction to respondent Nos. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioner from the hands of respondent No. 4 to 7. Issue notice of motion.

On asking of the Court, Ms. Mahima Yashpal, D.A.G, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State. The grievance of the petitioner before this Court is that his nephew Lokender had solemnized marriage with one Aarti against the wishes of their parents. The villagers including the family members of the couple were against the marriage as boy belongs to SC category and the girl belongs to BC (Yadav) category. Now the villagers are threatening the petitioner saying that you are responsible for the marriage and you will be killed if you enter in the village. They even opened the house of the petitioner by breaking the lock of the house and stolen the valuable articles.

In this regard, petitioner has given representation dated 01.08.2020 (P-5) but no action has been taken till date. This petition is being disposed of by giving direction to respondent No. 2 and 3 to look into his representation dated 01.08.2020 (P-5) and take appropriate action in accordance with law.
